This rug is a Sumak rug which is a type of brocading or flat-woven pile. This is a flat weave, rug that is thicker than the Kilim and very sturdy however they are not reversible like Kilims due to the non-clipped yarns are left on the back. The pile is wool and silk with cotton foundation. The design is geometric with animal motif designs. The base color is cream and the border is dark blue. The size is 3 feet 10 inches wide by 6 feet 8 inches tall.
